Hi everyone! I’m Simone, aka The Pole Physio, and I am one of your course leaders! I’m so excited to have this incredible space for aspiring and current instructors to learn and grow.

I’ve been pole dancing for over 10 years now and a physio for even longer. I’ve previously worked at an elite level with hockey and Australian rules football, and after years studying and honing my clinical reasoning skills I now spend my days as a physio focused on my passion; treating the pole and aerial community and reducing the risk of injury for future generation pole dancers.

I can’t wait to get to know you and help you in your instructor journey! Looking forward to your questions and nerding out about all things pole in this forum! :purple_heart::orange_heart::sparkles:

Hi everyone! I’m Michelle, the founder of Pole Movement and one of your course leaders alongside Simone. I’m so excited to share this space with you, answer your questions, and dive into all the fun (and deep) discussions we’ll have together!

A little about me—I fell in love with pole in 2012 and started teaching just a year later. To say I was obsessed is an understatement! Within a year, I had opened my own studio, Pole Fit Dubai, and since then, I’ve been teaching, training instructors, and traveling the world sharing my passion for pole.

I absolutely love learning and sharing knowledge – so whether you have questions about the course, pole techniques, or even managing your career, I’m always here to listen and help however I can.

Looking forward to being a part of this journey with you and getting to know you all a bit better! :orange_heart:

Hello everybody! hope you are all well.

My name is Arroj and I am an aspiring pole instructor and newest member to pole movement. I began pole early 2024 and got absolutely addicted to pole after my first beginner class.

The warm welcome, music, energy and support from my instructor and other students brought me soo much joy. I felt so aligned, strong and loved the freedom to express myself after a long day at work. I have been deeply passionate about pole ever since and looking to continue to share that passion with others who are looking to start their pole journey.

I work as an emergency vet nurse so I lovee science/anatomy and would love to use that to breakdown intricate pole tricks and isolated dance moves. I cannot wait to embark in a career in pole dance and so excited to learn as much as possible from this platform.

Have a lovely week everyone!!

Hi everyone! I’m Charmaine. I’ve been consistently poling since 2022, but my pole journey actually started back in 2012 when I bought my first pole and learned from the DVD that came with it. I didn’t have much space at home and there weren’t any studios near me at the time, so my practice was on and off for years. Everything changed when I finally found a studio I loved—that’s when my passion really came back.

I competed in PSO for the first time, which was a huge dream of mine, and I plan to compete again in the future. I love pole so much that I kept dancing throughout my pregnancy and continued until about 34 weeks. After giving birth, I returned to training at 4 months postpartum. Starting over was frustrating at times, but it helped me appreciate my body’s ability to recover and regain strength. Rebuilding from the ground up taught me to slow down, understand my movements better, and be patient with myself instead of rushing tricks or comparing myself to my past abilities.

That mindset shift is what inspired me to become an instructor—I want to share that same passion, patience, and joy with others. I recently moved to a new town without a pole studio, so I’m in the process of creating my own space and bringing the love of pole to my new community. I’m so excited to grow and connect with all of you!

Hi Arroj, thank you so much for sharing and apologies for the very late reply, we’re still ironing out some technical issues. I love hearing your story, it reminds me so much of mine; an addict from the first class!

Your career as a vet nurse is insanely cool and so helpful for you to really get into the mechanics of the moves and understand everything on a deeper level. We’re so excited to have you here with us and look forward to seeing you progress through your journey. x

Hi Charmaine, your commitment is amazing and a huge congratulations on competing in PSO – what an amazing experience that would’ve been. How inspirational your perseverance is - as a mum myself, I know how daunting it can be getting to know your body again after going through such a huge change. It takes a lot of persistence and self-compassion to be able to rebuild and that will be an invaluable gift to your students. They will be lucky to have you. Can’t wait to see how you grow and develop here and please keep sharing. x

Hi everyone! My name is Madeleine or Madii. I started dancing as a child and began teaching jazz and hip hop classes at 16. When a friend opened a pole studio, it felt natural to join her and start teaching pole—that’s where my journey began. I taught for about five years before injuries and two pregnancies (including twins!) led to a long break. After undergoing and recovering a full abdominal repair due to severe diastasis recti (babies!), I worked hard through physio and returned to pole in 2023, jumping straight back into teaching.

Since then, I’ve competed and performed multiple times, but I’ve noticed how much the pole world has evolved. That’s why I’m excited to take the Pole Movement course—to deepen my knowledge and become the best instructor I can be.

Fun fact: I recently discovered I’m officially part of the neurospicy club (I suspected for years, but now it’s confirmed!).

Hi Everyone! I’m Madison! I have been pole dancing for 4 years, and teaching for 2. I started in a tiny studio that was upstairs at a climbing gym, we had 2 9ft poles. Now, with owners of the gym, we opened a new studio in March with 7 14ft poles and I manage it! It is called Euphoria, Davis Pole Studio (in California!).

I currently teach classes ranging from Intro to Pole to heels choreo to spin combos to advanced combos. Along with yoga, conditioning, and active flexibility classes.

I had no prior background in dance until pole, but played Intercollegiate waterpolo, have weight lifted my whole life, and have been rock climbing for 8 years. I started as a strong poler, with almost no flow, and my shoulders were so stiff!

I am very excited for this 200 training! I already have my 200 YTT and CPT, CES, and SFC through NASM, and am taking the XPERT 1&2 in February at the studio I manage. I am looking forward to how in depth this training is! I am a very confident teacher, but I will always be a student and am excited to see what new things I learn from this training!

Fun fact: I placed 1st in a local freestyle pole dancing competition in November. Moon Level 3, the whole video is on my IG if you wanna see! (@madisonswimswithfishesmadisonswimswithfishes) This photo is of me and my friends who also placed (2nd in Level 2, and 3rd in level 3). (Sorry it’s blurry, but that’s the cutest photo )

Hi Madii, thanks for such a beautiful and open share! :orange_heart: You are truly an inspiration - having had two babies myself I know how hard it can be to get back on the pole and that’s not including the injuries and recovery you have gone through! I love that even with your dance and teaching background you are still excited to learn more and keep growing as an instructor, we are all about that. Well done and welcome to the neurospicy club :hot_pepper: second to pole it’s my fav club! x

Hey Madison! Eeek, huge congratulations on the new studio - 7 × 14ft poles is an amazing upgrade, and what an incredible space to be managing!

It sounds like you have so much variety in your teaching, and I’m sure you’ll find lots of beautiful nuggets in this training that you can apply across all of your classes. I loved reading about your background too - it’s so inspiring to see how dedicated you are to continuing to learn and expand your knowledge base, especially with everything you already have under your belt.

And congrats on your competition placement! I had a watch — loved the combo and the music choice, such a strong performance. :flexed_biceps::sparkles:

So happy to have you here and excited to see what you take from the course! x

Hi everyone I’m Marina,

im originally from Greece but currently live in Ireland.

I’m a full time Pilates instructor and my journey with pole dance started in 2015 after I had a big heartbreak. Practicing pole was the best decision I’ve ever made as I fall in love with it and taught me how to love my body.

I’m no where near a professional pole dancer but I do love it. My ambition is to help individuals through both pole dancing and Pilates get strong confident and reduce injuries as much as possible so they can keep enjoying moving their bodies as long as possible.

during the years I was on and off through my pole journey as I had big changes in my life (moving countries, changing careers etc) but now I’m back falling love again.

I got so excited when I came across Pole movement because of the detail they provide about biomechanics (as a Pilates instructor you gotta love anatomy and the remarkable ways our body can move).

So thank you Michelle & Simone for this amazing opportunity!!

Looking forward to what is yet to come!!!:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hey Marina, first of all — what an incredible background; from Greece to Ireland, wow! But even more importantly, what an inspiring story. I truly believe one of the greatest gifts pole offers is teaching us how to love our bodies and appreciate the incredible things they’re capable of. Channeling that sadness into something productive and nurturing for yourself is so admirable.

Professional or not (yet!), passion is always what makes the real difference. And I love how pole and Pilates complement each other — I’m sure you’ll find beautiful ways to weave your Pilates background into your classes and really set yourself apart.

I can’t wait to see how you progress through the course. Please keep us all updated!! :orange_heart:

Hi everyone!! I am so excited to get into this training!!

I am an Occupational Therapist that works in the community particularly with older people, rehab and disability. My sole belief as an OT is to help someone achieve their goals and be the best they can be, this rolls over now into my job as a Pole Instructor with my students.

I first got hooked with pole dancing in 2020 (right before Covid hit), thanks to my best friend who paid for my first term of classes after moving interstate so I could meet people. Since that first class my love for dance, fitness and fun were heightened, and I have never looked back.

Unfortunately through that time I had pregnancy and a baby which stopped me from poling. I’ve also had some injuries that regressed my skills and strength. But thanks to @SimoneMuscat team at Pole Physio I am currently injury and pain free, and aiming to get back to my previous advanced level tricks and skills again.

Teaching has now become another love of the Pole industry. I have been teaching for 1.5 years now, and love seeing my students grow in confidence, strength and self-esteem. I teach both static and spin pole, as well as now doing Heels and dance/choreo classes. I am always looking for ways to help them achieve their goals and most importantly prevent them from injuring themselves, so I am hoping this training will allow me to continue doing that with much more knowledge behind me.

Fun Fact: I tend to love all the pole moves that people hate..superman, knee holds, ball drops etc. I love the adrenaline of dynamic pole too hehe.

Welcome Stacey! It’s wonderful to have you on the Pole Movement instructor course and it was great seeing you the other night at Pole Icon! And what a night that was!

It’s so great to hear more about you and your passion for pole - particularly after seeing you work with Ellie last year. It’s always such a honour for myself/my team to help polers through their injuries and I’m thrilled to hear that you are back on the road to your advanced tricks again!

And it’s wonderful to hear about your motivation for joining - you are definitely in the right place! In regards to your fun fact… well I actually love some of them too! When they don’t cause me bruises haha!

Welcome onboard again! Can’t wait to help you through the course :heart_hands::purple_heart:

Hi everyone,

it’s so wonderful to be part of this community.

My name is Lena, I’m 26 years old, and I’m from Germany.
I’ve been doing pole dance since January 2025, and I’m now just starting my training to become an instructor at the pole studio in my hometown.

Pole dance means a lot to me because the sport itself, my instructor, and all the people I’ve already had the chance to meet through it, always give me such a positive feeling.
In this short amount of time, I’ve learned so much about myself and others, and I benefit from this sport every single day.

I’m really excited to get to know all of you and I am very grateful for the opportunity to connect and exchange experiences here with you.

Sending lots of love,
Lena

Hi, I’m Saphire — studio owner, yoga teacher, and someone who knows and understands how pole fitness has the power to change lives. I’m based in Whangārei, New Zealand, and I came to pole not as a dancer or an athlete, but as someone looking for something — and found far more than I expected.

Experience with Pole & Teaching I’ve been poling for two years, spending the first 1.5 years as studio manager before recently stepping into ownership of the studio I started training at. I’ve completed Level 1/Beginner instructor training through our franchise programme and I’m a Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher — teaching movement is something I’ve loved deeply. But I noticed early on that the instructor training I had access to was missing the anatomy and biomechanics foundations I was craving, and I knew I needed to go further.

What Excites Me Most About This Course The depth. I want to understand the why behind every movement — not just how to teach a trick, but how the body is actually working to execute it. I’m especially drawn to the biomechanics and anatomy content, and the hypermobility module has my full attention. I want to become a safer, more informed, and more empowering guide for every student who walks through my doors.

Something Fun & Unique I’m a mum of five — yes, five — and somehow my favourite place to be is upside down. Whether that’s a headstand, a handstand, or hanging off the pole, right-side-up feels overrated. My kids also share actively enjoy this with me

Welcome, Lena!

I love that it’s the people and the community around pole that give you such positive feelings. One of the most special things about pole is how much we can learn about ourselves and others through the process, and it’s wonderful to hear how much the sport has already given you in such a short time.

We are so happy to have you here and are looking forward to learning and growing together throughout this journey.

Welcome to Pole Movement! :orange_heart:

Hi Saphire,

Studio owner and yoga instructor, we have those things in common! But you lost me at 5 kids  Massive respect :raising_hands: I’m struggling to find me-time with my two, so the fact that you’re raising five, running a studio, teaching, doing pole, and studying is seriously impressive. You are absolutely killing it!

I also love that you’re excited about the anatomy, biomechanics and hypermobility modules. Understanding the ‘why’ behind movement makes such a difference, and I think your students are very lucky to have someone so invested in becoming the best guide possible for them.

Also, I completely agree…right side up is overrated :joy: Welcome, we’re so happy to have you here and I’m really looking forward to following your journey! :orange_heart:
